First day

Today I was my first day as the assistant manager at the apartment complex Mark and I are living at. It seems like a pretty fun job and so far, so good.

Mark gets off work at 5 (for 13 more days he informed me), and usually gets home around 5:15-5:30 depending on traffic. I get off at 6, and today when I got home, this is what I found on the kitchen table.

How sweet is my husband? He also informed me that he had done the dishes and swept! (I did get after him while we were at his parents house because he swept there but had never done it here... haha)

Seriously though, he's the greatest!! I love him so much, and absolutely love being married to him!

Wife Goals #2

I have always loved to cook but never had the time or resources. Now that I'm a wifey and super domestic (ha!) I decided that I was going to try and make homemade meals a couple of times a week. The week before Mark and I left, I made lasagna, and these are green chile enchiladas I found on pinterest that were amazing! My next project will be crockpot ribs thanks to my cousin!

Wife Goals #1

Before Mark and I got married, I made it a goal to make our bed every morning. Pulling back the sheets when you're about to hop into bed is seriously one of the best feelings ever.

I also bought a cork board to put all my jewelry on. I plan on making it look pretty but I haven't had time yet... so, soon :)

Married life is the best.

One Week Anniversary

I can't believe I've been married for a week! Things have been crazy, but I've been loving every minute of it!

This week I've been unpacking and organizing our place while Mark has been working his butt off. He applied for a couple positions at the Royal Bank of Scottland and had interviews for them all on Wednesday! If he were offered a position he would spend up the 8 weeks in Stamford, Connecticut. Kind of a bummer, but it would be worth it. I would fly out there once or twice so we could spend a day or two in New York. Stamford isn't that far away and I've always wanted to see New York! Speaking of.... We fly out to the Dominican Republic TOMORROW!! We have one stop in NY for a couple of hours. Sadly it'll be in the middle of the night but at least I'll get to say I've been there, haha!

So, as I mentioned before, I've been unpacking and trying to decorate our place. Sadly we don't have a ton of pictures yet but I've made do :) Also, please don't judge us on our mess. I took these pictures while we were in the middle of unpacking still....

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of myself for doing this!

Our cute little kitchen

Aunt Barbara so graciously gave us her 3 piece sectional, and I caved and let Mark buy a new TV haha

This is the wall to your right as you enter our apartment.

This is in the hall that leads to the bedrooms

Our bedroom

Our Bathroom has a door that leads into the hall and our awesome closet.

Our awesome walk in closet. Yes, I did re-organize Mark's clothes by sleeve length, collars and colors. :)

The second bedroom which pretty much acts as our storage room haha

Ode to the best mother in the world

So, I know this is a little late, but in light of mother's day I just have to express my love and appreciation for this wonderful woman.
She has done so much for me, and I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for her. She's been there for me through my ups and downs and has done so much to help with my wedding. I would have died of stress overload if it wasn't for her.

This picture was taken at an Orem Owlz game. We had a girls night and went. My hair was starting to grow back at this point, and I don't know what I would have done through all that if it hadn't been for my mom. She was always there to comfort me and tell me that I looked beautiful when I was feeling at my worst. I cannot begin to express how much I truly love her! She's the best!

11 days of singlehood

The past couple of weeks have flown by yet seemed so slow! We've been crazy finishing up everything and gathering up things for our new apartment. This past weekend we went to Blanding to pick up Mark's bed and see if there was anything else that he wanted to bring. Turns out he doesn't have a lot of stuff ha. Even though it was a short trip we managed to go to the Monticello temple and do a session with his parents. It's a very small temple, but it was fun to go with my future in laws!
